Today Pirate Daddy played a fearsome trick on me. There I were, looking at the biggest column what mine eyes ever beheld, what when Pirate Daddy yelled, "She's a fallin'!!! Quick, man your stations! Hold her in place while I call for help!" Me pirate instincts took over and I ran as fast as me sea legs could carry me to the bottom of the column where I pushed with all me might.
And as I were straining and pushing to keep her in place, to mine ears came the sound of laughter. "What game be ye playin' Pirate Daddy? Come help me hold her in place!!!"
Aye, it were then that I learned that Pirate Daddy likes a good joke. "Aye, Shortbeard, me old friend. That thar column hasn't moved for over 2000 years and she won't be goin' anywhere today!"
Funny joke for Pirate Daddy, but we'll see who's laughin' when I make him walk the plank!
"Aye! Don't be sore Pirate Shortbeard," called out some sailors on Pirate Daddy's crew. Come run a race with us.
The next thing I knew, there we were, standin' in the old stadium that they used in these here parts. "Avast!" I yelled. "I may be known for me sea legs, but I'm quick as lightning on land as well. Yer in for a big surprise!!!"
So I took me place at the starting line and waited for the race to begin.
Truth be told, they never had a chance. Pirate Daddy sounded the start and off I ran as fast as me old legs could move.
Pirate Daddy's crew were fast, but I were faster, and this is the only view they had of this old sea dog the whole race!
